While it seems like the fall season’s staff training started only a short time ago, we are actually already halfway through our season. Having school groups back at camp has been great. The last activity that student’s participate in at TOS is called closure. During that time they fill out a survey, providing us feedback on their trip. Let’s check in below to see what some of the students had to say about their time at The Outdoor School:

What happened to you here that you will remember with pride?

• “I will remember almost hitting a bullseye.”
• “I loved the pirate ship! In the beginning I was scared but after I went all the way to the top. I was very proud of myself! <3”
• “The fact of not giving up on things that are scary and new. Also keeping a positive attitude for myself and others. Sleeping in a cabin on top of the water with bugs.”
• “I made a friend… and I had fun”
• “I remembered hiking, kayaking, rock climbing, high ropes. My favorite thing was gaga, pickle ball, plus hanging out with my friends and the chaperones and thank you for the best experience of my life.”
• “I think that I will remember catching my first fish on the docks of camp champions”
• “I will remember that I got to stay the night and that it was my favorite field trip.”

Pick one thing that you learned while you were here at The Outdoor School.  How will you apply it back at school or at home?

• “Astronomy. I learned stories about the stars. I will learn more so I can tell the stories to my big sister.”
• “I learned to respect others that will help me to make friends.”
• “I learned how to kayak and how I want to go home and kayak w/ my dad.”
• “To have courage to do stuff”
• “I learned universal respect and I can use that at home and school by listening to my friends and family.”
• “That team work will get you anywhere and the outdoors are super-duper AWESOME.”
• “That I can do anything I put my mind to”
